Annie McDonnell

Annie McDonnell is a lifelong reader and advocate for writers and books. In 2006, Annie won a contest with Elle and became a book reviewer for the magazine. When Elle stopped running book reviews in print, Annie moved to blogging, the creation of The Write Review Facebook community, live author interviews and events, and the World of the Write Review Book Club. In addition, Annie writes a column in the formidable literary journal “Well Read Magazine” called “Annie’s Antics.”

Annie’s debut book, Annie’s Song: Dandelions, Dreams & Dogs, debuted in March of this year. It is an experiential, cross-genre book of essays and poems.

In December 2020, Annie was the recipient of the Doug Marlette Award for lifetime achievement in book promotion.

She volunteers at One Love Dog Rescue as much as possible and supports literacy through book drives and Operation Paperback. Annie lives in Mastic, NY, with her husband, three beautiful dogs, and five adorable cats.
